Martin Přívratský

Filmmaker, film director, and producer Martin Přívratský started his career by making music videos for the Czech band Vypsaná fixa. He has made several lifestyle and extreme sports TV shows. He was one of the people behind the creation of the Contest magazine, one of the first TV shows on extreme sports in the Czech Republic. His work includes documentary projects, ‘making of’ films, as well as viral commercials.

In 2007, Martin completed his first documentary film – a BMX road movie called Berlin Trip ’07, capturing the journey of a few BMX riders to the German Rebel Jam. Five years later, in 2012, he made his feature film debut with the Tomorrow Will Be Better documentary mapping the fight of the FMX rider Libor Podmol for the world champion title in freestyle motocross. The film received awards at several festivals, it won the Czech Lion audience award, and it was sold for American distribution in Hollywood as the only Czech documentary. In 2013, Martin Přívratský together with Dan Vojtěch made a 26-minute documentary about life in Los Angeles called L. A. People. Martin is author of many viral videos and commercials for Škoda Auto, Snickers, Nikon, Red Bull, and other companies. He is currently shooting short spots and ‘making of’ films and he’s working on a new documentary.
