HARMAN technology, one of the world's largest manufacturers of analogue photographic film, darkroom paper and photochemistry, announced on 16 July 2025 the launch of a new and improved successor to the original Phoenix - HARMAN Phoenix II.
Like the mythical Phoenix, this film continues to carry a message of hope, rebirth and transformation. It continues the story of one of the world's greatest photographic filmmakers and opens another exciting chapter in their journey together.
This is the third colour film to be produced from enamel to cassette at the HARMAN factory in Mobberley, near Manchester, UK.
HARMAN Phoenix II is a new generation of color film that builds on the success of its predecessor but brings a completely revamped formula. Every layer of the film has been innovated, including the use of new dyes, couplers and experimental layer construction. The result is a film with improved contrast, finer grain and greater sharpness, while better preserving detail in highlights and shadows.
