Milan Maršalka

Hi, I’m Milan from Bratislava.   Whenever possible, I take photos at the DayLight Studio where I can use a whole range of FOMEI lights. I got to know FOMEI thanks to Martuška Uhrínková who introduced me to the world of lights.

My first lights were Digitalis 600. I have them to this day, they have never failed me and I can rely on them even in the most difficult situations. I mostly shoot portraits and events but I also participate in commercial projects. In the studio and outdoors I work exclusively with Fomei lights and I trust them with my life. Recently, I have been discovering the magic of black and white photography and colour grading.

Right now, I’m working on two projects: Made 4 Sport and Heroes. I like working with strobes as well as constant lights. I’m fascinated by contrasting and hard light which I consider to be an uncompromising teacher – the best of all. As I say: “Light is magical and it provides the atmosphere to the concept in the photo. With its unbridled energy, it can always surprise and charm you. It either makes your photography exceptional, or it makes it fall into oblivion.”
