Drytac Protac Ultra Gloss is a 50µ polyester carrier coated with a 25µ solvent acrylic adhesive. To maximize the homogeneous mirror effect, it is necessary that the Protac Ultra Gloss UV film is applied to a solid, hard and completely smooth surface. The image will significantly gain depth and color contrast.
This is a polyester laminating film with a "hybrid cross-linked" adhesive and therefore the top quality for cold roller lamination. It does not cause silvering.
Benefits of high-quality laminating films:
- they are extremely light (unlike cover glass)
- dust and moisture cannot get between the self-adhesive laminating film and the image (yes, under the glass)
- increased abrasion resistance and complete water resistance
- high degree of protection against UV radiation and ozone O3 (against image fading)
Lamination tool: roller laminator. Preheating of the film is not necessary.
Recommendations:
- when applying, set high pressure and low feed speed
- laminate fully stabilized (dry) photos; the recommended minimum delay after inkjet printing is 6 hours
- during application the film usually stretches slightly (typically 1 mm per meter of length), so give it time to shrink again and do the final trimming of the laminated photo again at least six hours after lamination
