If the exposed film is completely retracted into the cassette during rewind and the end of the film cannot be pulled out using the film puller, this cassette opener is the ideal tool to open the cassette. This, of course, must be done in a darkroom.
Opening the cassette will damage it, but it will get the film out and you can develop it. After removing the cap, be careful not to scrape the removed film on the edge of the unlocked cartridge.
