HARMAN SWITCH AZURE
We are delighted to present a new film from the British company HARMAN technology. This film, which is HARMAN's fourth color product, is produced in the picturesque town of Mobberley, near Manchester, just like its predecessor Phoenix II.
HARMAN SWITCH AZURE: Creative Film with Alternative Color Arrangement
The uniqueness of HARMAN Switch Azure lies in the fact that it is exposed on the opposite side than regular color films, which brings unexpected color combinations. Expect the colors to "switch" and create images with a very different look. Blue light is recorded in the red channel, green in the green, and red in the blue channel. The result is pink-orange skies, blue brickwork, strangely colored fruit (e.g. azure bananas, blue tomatoes and strawberries) or blue skin tones.
Transforming Everyday Objects and Nature
Common objects, such as mailboxes, traffic signs, buildings, or vehicles, take on a completely new look after transformation. In nature, flowers, trees, landscapes, and wildlife also change, appearing unusual and almost surreal. Sunsets, meanwhile, turn into cool blue and purple tones.
Since few colors in nature are truly pure, the resulting effect may vary depending on the colors present in the image. Green shades tend to be less affected, but most green colors are not pure, and their tone can therefore shift from blue to yellow-green, depending on the original shade.
Usage and Recommendations
HARMAN Switch Azure can be used for any photographic subject, with the results depending on ambient lighting, colour palette and exposure. Best results are usually achieved outdoors when metering for the mid-tones. On bright days using a UV filter will enhance sharpness.
There are no fixed rules for scanning Azure film, and different results will depend on the equipment and method chosen. We recommend making adjustments to standard parameters. White/Grey balance can be difficult to establish directly from a scanner, so further adjustments can be made in your graphics program if required.

The HARMAN SWITCH AZURE film is available in 36 exposure ISO125 DX coded cassettes suitable for all 35mm cameras and in 120 format (roll film), edge numbered 1-19.
