The Paterson Major focusing finder is designed to provide a magnified image of the image that is projected onto the base plate of the magnifier. This allows the grain structure of the negative to be brought into focus during image editing prior to exposure of the photographic paper. The 36cm height of the device allows for more comfortable handling of the controls of the enlarger, even at high magnification.
Can be used for magnification as low as 3.5x magnification.
