Extensive Measurement Capabilities
The Sekonic C-7000 spectrometer features a linear CMOS sensor with a wavelength range of 380 to 780 nm, allowing you to quickly and easily measure light intensity from 1 to 200,000 lux (0.09 to 18,600 fc) and true color temperature from 1,563 to 100,000 K. You can also monitor the output data in CSV format, chromaticity coordinates, peak wavelength, Color Rendering Index (CRI), or various diagrams according to specifications such as CIE1931, CIE1964, or CIE1976. Up to 999 measurements can be stored in the device’s internal memory, making optimal scene setup in the studio or challenging outdoor conditions much more intuitive and seamless.
Top-Notch Color Rendering
The C-7000 light meter uses the CRI index to measure color rendering properties in Ra units from 1 to
15, enabling use in high-intensity discharge environments, such as photographing moving cars on the street.
It also supports the Television Lighting Consistency Index (TLCI), Technical Memorandum (TM-30-15),
and Television Lighting Matching Factor (TLMF), which maximizes your photography and cinematography
capabilities.
Additionally, there is the brand-new Spectral Similarity Index (SSI) for spectral evaluation of lights,
specifically designed for modern digital cameras. This spectrometer allows you to render colors
on a much larger scale, which is useful for both studio and fieldwork. You can, for example,
set any light or use predefined standards and then assign another light a specific SSI value based on
similarity. This index quantitatively compares the test light spectrum with the desired reference light
source and expresses the similarity on a scale from 1 to 100, where 100 indicates absolute
match.
Easy and Convenient Use
The Sekonic C-7000 light meter features a 4.3? touchscreen that maximizes user comfort in any situation. For easy meter setup and management and analysis of stored data, there is a supporting software tool, Sekonic Utility, for Windows and MAC OS X, included on CD with the delivery or available for free download from the official manufacturer’s website. Connection is made via USB 2.0, supported by the vast majority of PCs and laptops.
The oval shape of the meter allows for easy handling and secure grip, so you can focus entirely on capturing the scene and optimal setup. The device housing is weather-sealed, ensuring much more reliable and long-lasting use. The top unit with the measuring sensor can be rotated up to 270° around its axis (180° left / 90° right), allowing continuous monitoring of all key data without limitation. If needed, interchangeable inserts with different light transmission can be inserted into the rotating head for diverse photographic applications and disciplines.
